Wow, I’m impressed with my boss at Grey Dog’s for putting this beer on tap (Hey Dave!) — apparently its pretty rare and its surprisingly good. I haven’t heard much critical acclaim for the coney island beers. Not much that’s bad, but nothing like, hey you should try this. But maybe this will change things. It’s quite good, a light refreshing summer beer. However, I did get pretty bored with the taste about halfway through. Also, I didn’t take notes, and I drank it while cleaning, so all I know is that it’s not really bitter, a little darker than a typical pilsner, and goes down easy (it goes down eeeeaaasy, it goes down eeaaeasy). It’s hard to compete with the Dogfish Head, but it does pretty well, and it’s a great beer to drink with food.
It’s a quite good, and like I said it’s pretty rare, and it’s not even up on Beer Advocate yet! So if you live in NYC, you should come down to Grey Dog’s Coffee (90 University Place or 33 Carmine Street) and get one!
Oh, so, in other news, I’m taking the weekend off of drinking beer, as drinking every day is starting to feel pretty terrible, physically. But I’ve got tons of beers that I haven’t written about so the posts will keep coming.
